***REMINDER***

Official practices begin Monday, August 24th (yes, this is before school starts). We will meet at Woodinville High on the bench overlooking the softball field at 2:00PM. If you haven’t already, pick up and fill out your forms for athletic eligibility (you can also download them from the school district website). You will also need a current physical. If you don’t have these ready, you should still come to practice to participate in pre-practice meetings.

Looking forward to starting the year, see you on Monday!

***Update for Summer Running***

Get ready for the 2009 Woodinville XC Picnic on August 1st. Please take note of the different time and location from normal Saturday practices. We will meet at 10:00am at the Duvall Park and Ride. Food will be provided following an easy run and a dip in the river. Please let your captains know if you plan on coming so we can make sure to have the right amount of food. If you haven’t been out yet, now is the perfect time as we get ready for the season to begin on August 24th. Remember, it’s ALWAYS better late than never (Just make sure you start at week one of the Pre Season Training instead of jumping right in the middle)

***SUMMER RUNNING 2009***

Hello all, our first unofficial practice will be Saturday, July 11th at 10:00am on the track at WHS. If you’re looking to get a head start on the season, wait no longer! We will have a (very) short meeting about summer training and go for a quick run. This practice will not take much longer than 1 hour total. All subsequent meetings (until official practices begin) will be at 9:00am and will be roughly 60 - 90 minutes. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday practices will be at the Redmond Watershed, Monday, Wednesday (optional), and Friday practices will be at the HS. More updates (including training guidelines) to come shortly.

Come Find Us!

We’ve been having a great summer of running with good turnout for practices, but we are always encouraging more people to come join us. With only a few weeks left until official practice starts, now is a great time if you haven’t already to come out and get ready for the season and meet with some of your teammates. Additional updates: New addition to the Info Page: Coaches Notes on Pre-Season Running, 2008 Schedule posted.

More Summer Workouts

A few updates worth noting: Summer Training for 2008 is now available for viewing. All practices start at 10:00am, our meeting location is in bold at the top of each day’s activities, followed by a short description of the run and italicized post-run additional bits at the bottom. Great time to get to know the trails at the Watershed.

Reminder that anyone is welcome to come run with us, regardless of school, age, hair color, eye color, nose color, IQ, height, shoe size, etc. If you want to get in shape, come join us and have a good time while doing it.

And finally, MARK YOUR CALENDAR! The third annual Woodinville Cross Country Picnic is set for July 12th at McCormick Park in Duvall. Now, I’m not one to exaggerate, but this could likely be the most important, most fun day of your entire life. A quick run followed by chow and swimming. Food will be provided, but please send me an email if you plan to attend so that I can plan for how much food to have ready. No email, no soup for you!

Summer Workouts

It’s that time of year again! Summer base training for the upcoming 2008 cross country season is starting on Saturday, June 28th at 11:00AM. We will meet on the track at WHS and set out for an easy run to kick off the summer. Practices will continue to run until the season officially starts on August 25th. A schedule of exact practice locations and a general description of each day’s running will be available shortly, but expect to have practice at 10:00AM at the high school every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday as well as 10:00AM practices at the Redmond Watershed every Monday and Saturday. Practices should last about 60-75 minutes most days, with a few days up around 90 minutes. Hope to see everyone there, let’s make this our best season yet!
